My girlfriend had just recently seen a psychic, and since I have always found psychic powers interesting, I wrote this song. She told me about who her psychic said she was, and what she did in her past lives, among other things. Though I’ve never actually seen a psychic, this is a fictional story of my first encounter with my girlfriend’s psychic. I walked in as a skeptic, and walked out a believer. As a boy, my friends and I used to dabble in having our own “table raisings”, and ask the dead questions. It was both fun and scary, and I’m still not sure about some of the things we saw and experienced together. I don’t claim to know much about psychic abilities, but I do know that all of us have a“gut feeling” sometimes, or weird premonitions about things. I think that we all possess to a certain degree, psychic abilities.
