Fall Again

(Patrick Gallagher)
Almost every time I fight with my mate, I end up coming out the other end with a better understanding of things. Unfortunately, it’s usually as much fun as getting kicked in the balls. Sometimes it takes months or even years until I finally “get it”. “Fall Again” is a song about those times. It has to do with being in a relationship, fighting, and then reaching a moment of new understanding. It ain’t over until, I begin to see it, I begin to see it.

Lyrics

Standing here with my wheels spinning
You got a wild hair way up your ass
I used to think that I was always winning
But I’m out of breath at the starting line

Just when you think you know, you really don’t know nothing
And before too long, you stop me from my bluffing
When we fall again, we’ll fall again

I got my mind made up, and then you slap my face
I guess we’ve done this before
It’s just never the same but….

I begin to see it, I begin to see it
I begin to see it, when we fall again
We’ll fall again

Why should you believe me when I say I’m doing fine?
It’s just there’s always something stirring in my mind
Now it will end when we fall again

Don’t call me, I’ll call you
Ain’t that what you said?
Well, such a bitter sweet thing
When you’re so damn right

I begin to see it, I begin to see it
I begin to see it, when we fall again
We’ll fall again

I love you for your evil mind, and I know you think I’m blind
But tonight you will find that it will, never be the same
Never be the same
