It is easy to get caught up in the rat race, and forget about what is really important in our own lives. Often we overlook things that will give us a better perspective throughout the day. Good art offers you that. It is the artist’s job, to offer you a fresh perspective on your daily life. Through the artists perspective, you will be able to slow down, take a deep breath, and experience it to it’s fullest.

An artist such as Pat Gallagher can offer you this very gift in a matter of minutes. In his self-produced debut release, “Uncle Dick’s Martini’s”, Pat presents both light hearted and revealing stories that are relative to seeing the important things in your life.
For example, in the feature song “ Uncle Dick’s Martinis”, he talks about how the small things in life can become the catalyst for something greater. It’s a story about Pat’s real life Uncle Dick and his talent for making killer martini’s at family reunions, to help everyone relax and enjoy time spent together. This song illustrates the importance of family, and the value of spending time together (Dick sings solo at the end, recorded over the phone via Wisconsin).
Have you ever told yourself that you will never be like your parents, and then one day realize that YOU ARE your parents? In " Dug a Hole", Pat sings “my daddy was a digger and I am the same” This song is about Gallagher’s realization that he has turned out just like his father, spending too much time and energy on his work, which often leaves him nothing left for the ones he loves. Marc Ford of the Black Crows plays guitar.
"Desire" seems to be the favorite among Pat's fans. Have you ever felt a burning desire so strong, it hurts inside? This song illustrates the importants of recognizing your "gut feeling" that can help you manuver through your own life with passion. A desire that keeps you awake at night and haunts you like a ghost, but always remains just beyond reach. Mike Watt of the Minute Men sits in on bass.
“Uncle Dick’s Martini’s” is the perfect analogy for Pat Gallagher’s philosophy for life, one can drink a martini in a matter of seconds, or you can enjoy the experience for as long as you want to.
